Director of Engineering

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY Direct R&D, technical documentation, and project engineering activities for both electrical and mechanical team. Focus engineering group on developing products that meet customer needs while ensuring optimum levels of productivity, cost, and quality. Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to established company policies and objectives. Utilize best practice engineering methods and provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Mentor team of talented engineers by challenging and coaching them at a high level, drawing on design experience to help deliver solutions which have a high probability of functioning the first time. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review and approve design development of new product applications and conduct internal and customer attended design reviews. Oversee the project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Provide project management support as it relates to engineering projects and follow up with Engineers regarding ongoing projects. Define, track and deliver key productivity metrics and continually work towards improving team efficiency and engineering capacity. Review customer drawings and specifications and assess specification compliance. Develop and maintain processes for the Engineering Team that follow current industry standards (AS9100D & ISO-9001). Define, solve and implement technical solutions relating to feasibility, development, continuous improvements, product evaluation, and product support. Provide technical direction and support to procurement, quality assurance, sales, assembly and test personnel. Assist in transferring projects to production partners. Provide subject matter expertise to engineering staff by maintaining knowledge in industry standards related to the valve construction and aerospace/aviation industry. Responsible for staff management and development including assigning and directing work, appraising performance, hiring, training, and retention. Ensure that all personnel under supervision adhere to Company Code of Conduct and Ethics. Oversee design of efficient goal-oriented test plans for both long-term and short-term product testing. Continuously evaluate the engineering organization and equipment so that it can exceed product and business objectives with success. Work with other team members to maintain transparency and ensure a teamwork approach to building a holistic product from inception to the customer in the field. Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and technical requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 10-15 years Engineering experience. 5-10 years Engineering Project Management/Department Management. Knowledge of basic brass and stainless-steel materials, electrical components, printed circuit boards, machine shop best practices, dimensioning and tolerancing. Understand Intellectual Property (patent) fundamentals. Computer Skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, ERP and Solidworks)
Salary Range: $120K - $150K

11 - 15 years

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
