Patient Coordinator, Receptionist

A busy, group optometric practice is looking for a patient coordinator to join our team. We are a well established, full scope, high-tech optometric practice containing a full optical boutique. Our entire office is computerized utilizing electronic health records, so applicants must have strong computer skills. Experience with major eye insurances is a plus. The position would entail working FT/PT three to four days per week. Availability to work a flexible schedule including 2 evenings and Saturdays is a must.

Position Description:
o Welcome and check in patients as they arrive at the office
o Schedule and verify appointments and ensure insurance coverage is accurate
o Build team commitment to high standards of service, exceeding customer expectations
o Answer incoming calls, providing assistance to the patient or rerouting the calls to the appropriate department
o Complete patients' visits by ensuring all of their needs were met, checking them out and collecting the appropriate payment
o Be able to navigate the medical records to find pertinent patient information as needed
o Once integrated into the office, acquire the skills necessary to help in other areas as needed

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
