Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities in their employment journey - Conduct assessments to determine individuals' strengths, skills, and interests - Develop individualized employment plans and goals for each client - Assist clients in job searching, resume building, and interview preparation -Visit existing and potential businesses in the community to present the capabilities of the JOBS Program in an effort to secure community-based employment for individuals referred to the JOBS Program - Provide on-the-job training and support to clients to ensure successful job placement and retention - Monitor client progress and make necessary adjustments to employment plans as needed - Advocate for clients' rights and accommodations in the workplace - Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support to clients Skills:
- Strong background in social work or related field - Experience mentoring or working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities - Familiarity with workforce development programs and resources - Ability to recruit potential employers and establish partnerships - Proficient in training development and educational strategies - Excellent interviewing skills to assess client needs and match them with suitable job opportunities
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED equivalency required.
Relevant experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, work in sales, or work within contracted temporary staffing agencies for job recruitment and placement for 3 years desired.
Successful completion of ACRE certification required; will pay for initial certification.
Criminal and child abuse background clearances are required.
Must have valid driver's license and be able to travel independently to employment sites and adjust to the work environment specific to that individual's job.
This include but is not limited to; professional office settings, outside work, loud environments, work with machinery, hand work, computer work, physical labor, frequent standing, reaching, carrying, or sitting.
Environments can include hot, cool/cold, wet, dry environments.
This position can be a hybrid in-person/remote setting all dependent upon job needs, meetings, and visitation/assistance to individuals on their specific job site.
